Now more than ever it is important to be aware of the legislative issues which are being written and voted on by our local, state, and national legislatures; legislatures whom we elect. These people greatly impact the political climate for working families both here and around the world. The Citizenship and Legislative Committee, most often referred to as the Community Action Program (CAP), is the worksite political-legislative arm of the Local Union and the vital workplace political activator. For more on what CAP is and what it does click here!

The UAW Community Action Program 2008 Legislative Conference was held in Washington, DC, from February 3-6. Your conference delegates attended informational forums, listened to speakers, and discussed our working family issues. We also made a trip to Capitol Hill to lobby and discuss our issues with U.S. Congresspersons and Senators. Click here for highlights of the UAW Legislative Conference.
