MEMORIAL
DAY
2005

On Friday May 27th, our Veteran’s Committee held the annual Memorial Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Martinsburg Mall. This solemn ceremony pays tribute to those men and women who lost their lives in service to our country. President Ed “Blue” Lewis was there to welcome everyone and Kevin Roman was kind enough to sing the national anthem and to give the invocation and benediction.

Daniel C. Staggers, of the law firm Staggers and Staggers, served as guest speaker and Taps was played by Miss Jamie Harrison from Martinsburg High School. Also in attendance was the motorcycle group of committee member Ben Fowler. The Martinsburg High School ROTC Program presented the “Colors”, which were made up of the American Flag, the West Virginia state flag, the POW flag and the UAW flag.

We should all remember that without those who serve we would not enjoy the freedoms we have today. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts, hearts, and prayers, not only on Memorial Day but every day.
